Detroit will continue to offer the DD15 TC (with turbo compounding) which will receive many of the engine family changes including the new DDEC electronic controls and improved fuel filter system. Two versions are available. The more powerful 1.6 TDI unit produces 77 kW (105 hp) and 250 Nm of torque. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.8 s and the fuel consumption is 3.9 L/100 km (60.3 mpg). In the smaller version, the 1.6 TDI generates 66 kW (90 hp) and 230 Nm of torque. At the same time the new engines demonstrate dynamic torque, even at low engine speeds. Maximum torque is available at engine speeds as low as 1200 rpm and remains constant up to 1600 rpm in the main driving range. But the engines also demonstrate excellent performance at engine speeds below 1000 rpm.
